War by Another Means

The symposium will kick off with a keynote at the Solomon Center on Fort Jackson at 7pm on 13 October. The night will feature a keynote address by Major General David Blackledge and a roundtable discussion. Walter Edgar will moderate the discussion which will focus on a comparison of the counterinsurgency efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Douglas Porch, David Ucko, and Erin Simpson will participate. They will examine the best practices employed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They will discuss the successes in Iraq and whether those strategies and tactics work in Afghanistan.
